Mayor Alderman Maura Hickey invited primary school children to the council chamber on Thursday 30th March.
The School Council sent two representatives.
The mayor shook hands with all the children and spoke to each one.
The children were treated to some nibbles before entering the council chamber.
Alderman Hickey gave a short, but interesting, talk about the council and invited questions.
The children from 8 local schools took part with enthusiasm and gusto.
They participated in a debate on whether to allow a circus access to council land.
After much empassioned debate a vote was taken and the motion to allow the circus on council land was denied.
The children from all the schools were well mannered and polite, representing their schools extremely well.
