Working with UAVs otherwise known as drones

DRONES ARE NOT TOYS

The children are learning to safely and responsibly use UAVs for work on a class project.

They have been introduced to 'The Drone Code' and safety instructions.

They will be looking at the history of drones, safe use, the Civil Aviation Authority guidelines, how to operate a drone, legal requirements and the mechanics of a drone.

All work will be fully supervised.

It is important that they build up their flying time in a safe and controlled environment.

Landhead Primary School does not recommend the purchasing of drones for children.

Drones should not be bought by people under 14.

THE DRONE CODE

The Drone code turns the five main safety tips into a mnemonic, spelling drone, to make it easier to remember.

Don't fly near airports or airfields

Remember to stay below 120m (400ft) and at least 50m (150ft) away from people

Observe your drone at all times

Never fly near aircraft

Enjoy responsibly
